The FlexType™ P Pack operates through a simple five-step process. Plastic parts are loaded into a hopper, which feeds them onto a vibrating platform like the FlexCube™. This platform gently arranges components without causing damage, even to lightweight or intricate items like bottle caps or moulded fittings. A high-resolution camera scans the parts, identifying their positions to guide a 6-axis robot. Fitted with custom grippers, the robot quickly transfers parts to a bagging machine, where they are sealed into bags and directed into storage boxes. This process handles a wide variety of part shapes and sizes and enables rapid changeovers—often under two minutes—for different products, from packaging closures to medical device components.
Designed for the plastics industry, the FlexType™ P Pack excels in flexibility and reliability. Its gentle handling prevents scratches or deformation, ensuring high-quality output that meets industry standards.
The plug-and-play compatibility with various PLCs and robot brands, including standard ABB models like the IRB1100 and IRB1200, allows for easy integration into existing facilities. Moreover, its high reusability and short implementation time reduce capital expenditure, making it an attractive option for both large-scale manufacturers and smaller operations scaling up production.
